Stephen Bartlett was born in New York state's smallest hospital, a 20-bed brick building in the Adirondacks. He moved to Vermont as a child with his family and grew up in the Northeast Kingdom, surrounded by the Green Mountains.

Stephen served five years in the United States Army, during which time he studied at Kansas State University. He was honorably discharged from the military and returned to Vermont where he continued his studies in journalism and writing.

Stephen worked as a journalist in Vermont and New York, with the majority of those years spent covering the education beat. His writing garnered several statewide awards.

He currently works as a critical care technician in an intensive-care unit in Upstate New York, where he lives with his wife and children.

Stephen recently completed a novel and is working on his next book. He also writes a blog that can be read by clicking above.
